Ovarian torsion is a surgical emergency in which the ovary rotates on its vascular pedicle, compromising blood flow. It can occur at any pediatric age but is more common in adolescents. The main symptom is intense, sudden lower abdominal pain, sometimes accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Early diagnosis through ultrasound and timely surgical intervention are essential to preserve the ovary and its future reproductive function.
