Labial Adhesion
Diagnosis and treatment of labial adhesion (fusion of the labia minora) in girls.

Labial adhesion is the partial or total fusion of the labia minora, common in girls under 6 years old. In most cases it is treated with topical estrogen creams, but when medical treatment is not effective or there are complications such as recurrent urinary infections, surgical separation may be required. The procedure is simple, outpatient, and has an excellent prognosis.
